It is very common to hear of managers in the amount of emails and voice messages they receive, the amount of projects, meetings and countless hours they work, and you never know if they are bragging or complain. One thing is certain, these managers are trapped in this vicious circle, because it makes them feel important because it puts them in the heart of the action, because they make things happen. They depend on the adrenaline rush that comes with solving urgent problems to be the savior of their poor and unfortunate of the team.

True leaders are not normally focus on solving problems themselves. They devote their time to ensure that problems are dealt right. If Batman was a real leader instead of a comic book hero with gadgets very powerful and the right amount of mystery to his side, he would probably arrive at the scene after being summoned by the light bat He descended from his bike bat, would take off his mask, and does not guide the people of Gotham City to resolve the crisis by themselves. He met people and match them according to strengths and capabilities to make them stronger. Batman certainly lose presence as a true leader. There would be no drama or action, and it would not save the day. Catching problems and correct root causes to eliminate the rush and excitement of putting out fires. When teams are able to share the work and become independent, everything goes well and there is no adrenaline rush. The team leader plays a different role and the center.

The truth is that most companies need both, managers and executives. It really depends on the situation, sometimes you need a manager to take charge of things, and to do so as he can, but these cases should be the short-term reactions to a period of crisis.

The real problem arises when managers are warning of permanent crisis, because it weakens the team, its workload increases, increases the dependence of the team on them, weakens the commitment and ownership, and discourages collaboration. In other words, you have the personal weakness, the team, and organizational growth. And do not forget, Batman is human ...
