Buy Wii Games

Buy Wii GamesCan you buy Wii games in the U.S. for a console bought in the United Kingdom?

We bought a Wii console in the UK and want our family to the United States to buy the games for our son for christmas / birthdays. Does anyone know if the games work?

No, the Wii is region locked, eg Japenese Wii games will not work on a U.S. Wii.

I think you can -

Follow these instructions.

Put a disc region of the United States in your Wii
Then quickly remove it and put a disc region of the United Kingdom in.
You should be able to play

No, the Wii is region-locked, and games purchased in the United Kingdom work.

I wish it could man, but I fear they do not. If so, I would go there like 4 times a year.

Mad Catz and other "accessories" vendors sell adapters that are playing software foreigners possible. However, I do not know if one exists yet for the Wii. It probably will before long. Demand for it is probably high. Check the website of Mad Catz and perhaps even the request of the Company for one.
