Deidara Plushie

My friend's favorite character of all time is Deidara of Naruto, but I hate stuffed animals that are there! They are so badly done!
I want to make her one myself, but I have no idea how to even begin to make a blanket, let alone one in particular. I would also include taking one of his clay birds.
