A comp card is short for "composite card and is also known as a 'z card" or game card "and even the map of Zed. According to Wikipedia, card printing comp is a marketing tool used mainly by actors, models and agents to represent them every time they go out for casting purposes. They are a marketing tool inexpensive but effective way of presenting the capabilities of a model.

A card layout is a sort of calling card for these people.

Comp card printing started in 1965 by a Londoner who created composite pattern printed on A4 paper. The designer, and registered the trademark "composite model" in Europe and the United States. The format was then revised in 1972 to make way for a business card size A5. This has led to the production of composites by agencies models. Comp card printing costs vary the tools used and the number of photos on the map. The type of cardstock can also affect the price and quality printing of maps.
