Model Shoots

I have one of those flashes that wrap around the lens for a glamorous work instead of my bounce flash installed. I can not find anything other than macro work. Any help would be great. Thank you!

You can search for people in B & H Photo. Look for models made by companies such as photogenic. In addition, Alien Bees has a new "Ringflash" portrait / photography model type. If you are not familiar with Alien Bees, they flash for studio lighting and typicially discount.

A great site to find tips and information on lighting is www.studiolighting.net. The guys who go to this website has also published a podcast really well on the lighting.

I've never seen a ring flash that was not designed for macro work. Not those that are powered by battery that you put on the front of the lens anyway. However, while searching I found this site: - http://www.adorama.com/catalog.tpl?op=ac ...
and there is a paragraph on the hot ring studio, which are mains. When you buy from, I do not know.

A couple of companies have made on a small scale. They usually have their design to be powered by Speedotron Norman Balcar or power packs. If you really want one, keep looking at eBay and they will come. They usually run at least $ 500, plus the cost of a power supply, such as those mentioned above (usually start at $ 250 + used).

the macro can be used for portraits wisely. You see them on eBay for a small fee, sometimes.

In big cities like NY, LA, Chicago, you can rent a "Ringflash" and Powerpack does not have much money. Places such as Flash Clinic, Calumet, Adorama in New York rent these.
