Monogram Models

The largest model aircraft manufacturers today are companies like Revell-Monogram, Italeri, Airfix, Heller, Testors, Minicraft and others.

40-50 years ago Revell Monogram, where the main competitors were the two models of aircraft production. However, in 1986, the two companies have been acquired by Odyssey Partners of New York and have been merged. In 2006, the German subsidiary of Revell Monogram separate-and created a new company with revenues exceeding those of even slightly with the parents. In 2007 Hobicco Inc. has announced the acquisition of Revell-Monogram LLC. Some new models Revell of Germany are known for their high quality, but still not the same as models for today Monogram Monogram is used to mark the line of high quality models called Pro Kits Modeller.

Italeri is the first Italian manufacturer of various plastic models. Overall impression Italeri models is that they represent the quality of mid-range, but to note is that the kits are the latest in constant improvement. However Monogram models are better then stored as Italeri.

Airfix is a major producer of plastics kits UK which was founded in 1939 and owned by Humbrol from 1986 until 2006 and is now owned by Hornby. As for the quality that is superior midrange try reference Revell of Germany, but not yet reached the standard of professional quality models Monogram.

Heller kits based French manufacturer that was founded in 1957 and was part of the same group with Airfix since 1986. In 2005, Heller has been a management buy-outs, but the following year, the company went into administration. For many years Airfix models were produced in France with Heller models which means they are of the same quality as Airfix and in line with the company's online Revell Revell-Monogram.

Minicraft models is a plastic kit manufacturer based in Illinois, USA. Although some editions Minicraft has an extremely bad reputation for poor molding, good size and correlated poorly with the original they have begun to improve with their final molds. On the other hand Minicraft sticker sheets are of exceptional quality. Overall quality of Revell is higher while the Monogram models are a quality benchmark.

Testor was founded in 1929 and began producing cement amateur model in 1936 and in 1945 he began balsa models of production. During the 70s Testor added to its portfolio of brands such as BMI and Italeri. It is a manufacturer with long tradition and high image quality but varied slightly below Monogram positioning itself as a line of high quality.

Overall, we can say that the air quality models, due to improved equipment molds, has been steadily improving, but still, the models have remained synonymous with Monogram models of high quality.
