N Gauge Track

N Gauge TrackIs Hallmark Keepsake Ornament that Lionel trains of the same size as the gauge model trains-N?

Every Christmas a long time now, I went to my father Hallmark Keepsake Ornaments Lionel Train. He loves trains and especially these ornaments. I was wondering if these ornaments are of the same size as the N-gauge model trains because I want to see if I can make these trains on the N-gauge track. If I could do, I want to make a track to these trains. Any input would be great!

In fact, Hallmark ornaments are not all built the same gauge. I happened to have some Hallmark ornaments, some tracks N-scale and a caliper measuring sitting on my desktop, so I did some quick tests on several. My results:
Year ornaments in 2006 - the "Veranda Stockcar" wheels set at 8 mm and size are actually quite close to rolling along tracks Gage N (9mm). The "Veranda Turbine" and "Veranda offers" wheels were set at 6 mm and Gage would not roll down the lane N Gage.
Year ornaments in 2005 - "Pennsylvania B6 Steam" has 8mm wheel Gage N Gage roll on track. The "Tender" and "Boxcar" Both Gage and 10mm wheels will not fit. The caboose has 9-mm Gage and is close enough that the wheels can be pushed inwards a little and let the car roll. I think a passionate hobby qualified wheels could fit normal N-Gage these cars and rolling them very good, but this will decrease the value of collection.
2001 ornaments - The Chessie Steam "and" Chessie offers "both 8mm gauge wheels and roll down the lane N Gage. However, the steam engine is no pivotal movement on the side and do not go around the curved track.
Year 1998 Ornament - "Pennsylvania GG-1" 8mm wheel Gage and will run on the track N-Gage. However, he did not and pivoting on the side and not going around curved track.

Thus, it seems there is some variation in the gauge wheel, and some but not all Hallmark ornaments can run on N Gage track. You can check each ornament person before going out and buy any track.

I have no idea
