Newmarket Town Plate

Newmarket Town PlateFind the best restaurant in Skipton

Many choose how you decide where to go?

Having lived in Skipton all my life (31 years) and with a belly that keeps scolding thought I share my top 5 Restaurant Skipton with you .........

Number Five - Sam Houston, Water Street, Skipton

Sam's back was the message earlier this year and yes he is back with a bang! Sam Houston has opened its doors 20 years ago on Tex Mex at the gateway to the Yorkshire Dales. Sam's reopened under new management earlier this year and boast of serving fresh, affordable Mexican cuisine in a traditional setting.

20 years on the fiesta is back in Sunny Skipton!

Number Four - Emporio Italia, Mill Bridge, Skipton

A new addition to the stage this summer Skipton, Emporio Italia is a great place for dinner and a delicious lunch. It aims to build on the reputation already established by their sister restaurant in nearby Ilkley. The place is authentic Italian through, the background music to the red scarf worn by chiefs and dried provisions for sale on the shelves. The food is delicious, but it tastes twice as good because of the abundant enthusiasm of the staff!

Lunch of pizza or pasta is about 6 pounds. Dinner menu offers early birds, Pizza / Pasta or more individual options from £ 7 upwards.

At Emporio Italia could really be on a gondola in Venice!

Number Three - Nosh, Newmarket Street, Skipton

After the passage of Devonshire Place to its current location in the Shop 25 restaurants (my ex-dentist), he brings (not so happy) memories of my childhood! An overview of the elegant decor and a couple of cocktails before meals in 25 below, the house cocktail and champagne bar, remove all fears! Serving excellent, well presented food fresh and deliciously sweet desserts (not sure if my dentist approve)

Number Two - Aeolos, Cavendish Street, Skipton

I have visited this place for the first time only three weeks ago! Situated away from the main street (formally No1) this place is sometimes overlooked by hungry guests, but it's definitely a place I do not soon forget!

The Victorian building has been sympathetically decorated with pergolas, vines and grapes, but retains all its features beautiful big house. As only the Greek restaurant in Skipton, with dancing and breaking the traditional plate, this place is really alive.

The Meze is certainly not for the faint heart, but highly recommended!

Number One - Canalside Street coach, Skipton

Officially, the Waterfront Nightclub and already "the barge" (before my time!) The Canalside is located in an emblematic building of Skipton. It offers fresh, home cooked fare in a wonderful location on the picturesque banks of the Leeds - Liverpool Canal.

With an excellent Sunday lunch for friends coupled with great value "early bird" deals, The Canalside is my number one choice in a restaurant in Skipton!
