Nikko Rc Toys

Hello, I was wondering ... I have a Nikko RC car (high-end toys)
and I wondered if I could run with a 7.2V battery (from a real car rc) instead of its origianl battery 9.6v ... It fits ...
Would it go slower?
Isn't the battery 7.2V faster cars ...
