Plush Mouse

Plush MouseIs it normal for a male ferret to get all possessive and aggressive during a mouse stuffed .. little?

He started whistling and shaking his head back and writhing like crazy when I tried to catch the other end of the mouse and carry him into the room. Im guessing this is a kind of natural instinct kicks in. .. But Im not sure. anyone know if this is normal? should I let him go and have his fun with it or discourage it?
He also bit my finger and a blood! crazy, it is not usually like this

Thans for your help = KS

It may be normal if the ferret likes REALLY something. For example: I have a small child who is truly baby dolls now. It has all the gadgets, toys and clothing for these dolls imaginable. She had "a pacifier that has cost the Kevvy. He was very upset if one of the other boys (ferrets), me or my daughter tried to grab her. He tried to hide and if someone close slot and bite it. He has never shown this behavior before and it was completely UN-like him. He just really liked the darn pacifier. Even if ... I could obviously not let this problem continue. The pacifier can be stored in the room where my ferrets live and if my ferrets are released on the day of the pacifier becomes hidden. :) Kevvy was "back to normal" since then.

On the other hand ... if it becomes a normal thing for your ferret and it shows signs of illness and loss of hair, this attack () might actually be a symptom of the disease. In this case, a checkup with the vet.

Anyway ... does not encourage the behavior. When you have the chance without the toy and remove the garbage or hide it.

Ferrets are nasty, smelly and unpredictable animals. Dispose.

Lovely commentary offers other lol

Ferrets are VERY possessive of toys or what they decide to call "theirs" - which is pretty much anything you could leave out lol Why do not you come join my forum to ferret http:// ferretocious.hyperboards.com ? We have over 400 members from around the world and they are much more educated about ferrets that "Morrissey is;)

Ferrets are not bad in any way or whatever. For this guy who just commented saying to get rid of. Pssh!
I have two ferrets! Joey and Moose. They are the most fun thing.
The only thing I can think is that it was simply want the toy to play a game with him. They tend to do. And when they bite you, they are not usually that means.

It's just their way of playing around.

Unless your ferret has not had his shot for distemper, so that may be the reason. They give them a shot before sending them to PetSmart or Petco or anywhere to be sold. The distemper shot. So they do not go all crazy and stuff. Lol.

But I guess he was just wanting to play and show who is boss. They do.

And if he wished. Just slap him in the nose (not hard) but hard enough to show that it is a no no. Like a dog.

My ferret does not like when I take their stash of toys from their hiding places. I'll put them in another area, and they will take their favorite toys and scurry to their hideouts. However, I will "attempt" in a fun way to take their toys with them, and this will start a tug of war (which they eventually won). They will even steal toys from other the other.

But the aggressive part does not sound good. Some ferrets will naturally "assume" certain that the toy is theirs, and woe betide anyone who tries to take.

Has he been checked by the vet lately? It could be nothing or it could be something. Hard to say. Has it happened once? It.
