Port A Cool

Port A CoolThen something of the power i an Ethernet port, so I can power a USB port?

I have a small CPU fan-like running from a USB port to cool my router or it resets. But the fan turns off when the computer shuts down. So, since I and the additional port on the router, I wondered if I could take this power. I can not know which son to use. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you

Although POE (Power Over Ethernet) standard has been finalized. I am not aware of any Ethernet equipment currently available that offers OCB.

You said that the fan stops when the computer shuts down, I think you mean when the computer goes into standby or hibernate rather than shut ...

According to the BIOS options of your Power cmputer you may be able to change the setting to NOT turn off power to USB ports.

Check in Control Panel, Power Settings in the Advanced section.

Only the "Powerline" Ethernet ports transmit power, and then only for specialized equipment. ordinary Ethernet connections, like those in a home network, are off. You could probably find one Powerline adapter to a computer store.

There are chargers available for USB devices, these plug into a wall outlet, and end with USB ports. They are intended for devices such as phones or music players, but you can probably one platform to power the fan. I expect a lot easier to find.

USB was designed to provide energy. It is possible to use Ethernet to get the power, but it requires something called "Power over Ethernet" and it is extremely unlikely that your router is going to happen for it.

This creative thinking. While there * is * a standard for Power Over Ethernet (PoE), I doubt that your router provides this capability. But check your specifications, I could be wrong.
