In what year and make of cars or Chevrolet trucks can I buy so I can easily convert my 68 chevy p / u to disc brakes? My '68 Chevy C10 shortbed 5 to 6 lug bolt pattern. I want to convert to power disc brakes by adding a vacuum brake booster and the disk system of the court. I need to keep costs down. Before you buy a new chrome wheels, I'm converting to the new disc brakes if the wheels are 5 bolt pattern and not the leg 6. What car or truck should I look for to obtain the latest parts disc brake condition, and yet be easy for me to change it? If I bought the car junk together, I do too, and may be able to use the vacuum booster, PS and radio. My 68 has none of these things now. I have replaced the wooden bed myself and the body is Getting paint (Ford) the red light at the moment. It will be lovely. S If you please help with my question wheels or suggestions. Thank
You should be able to go up to a year 75. If you go to a scrap yard to get the shaft and take the control arms up and down and use new / rebuilt calipers, flexible, safe God Bless
If you want to keep the transport capacity of your pickup, then I recommend you use parts for pickup change too. A 75 or newer GM truck should be good and should not require much modification to your existing set-up.
The disc brakes came from the factory in '72, if you just find a '72 (same body style as yours) and pirates you need. Then you can buy the wheels.
BTW, I did this conversion on my 70 Blazer 4WD with parts from a '72 Suburban.
