RALEIGH - A woman living illegally in the United States was briefly hospitalized after a heat stroke during a hunger strike outside the office of a senator from North Carolina.

A spokesman for the hunger strikers was 22-years Loida Silva is resting at home Monday after she was treated in hospital yesterday.

Silva had been camped out since June 14 with two other women at the local office of U.S. Senator Kay Hagan Democrat.

Hagan They want to support federal legislation called the DREAM Act would give undocumented immigrants a permanent residency by attending college or serving in the army.

The women came to North Carolina as children. They said that their status gives them little hope of improving their lives.
