Tell me what you think. also how far do you think I could hit a coyote sized animal with it. it has a 24 inch barrel and I am a good shot.

Remington makes a fine rifle and XCR 30-06 would be a good choice ....... If you havent yet purchased and plan to buy other brands please buy one made in the USA ......... With a little practice 300 meters should be within reach ---- You read and hear lots of noise around 400, 500, 600 lashes and over - the distances are achievable, but require a little dedication something that regularly strike far ...... It's not as easy as it seems and may require work to trigger .......... Hope this helps

Yes, it is excellent. 30-06 is a very versatile weapon, all the animals on the planet has been killed with him. The same can be said of 7 mm Mauser. There are templates shoting flatter a 25-06 or 270, and a lot of magnums, but 30-06 towers can be found with bullets as light as 100 grains to about 220, and if you're reloading, it is even more versatile. The M-1 Garand used this trick and kills were made at 800 meters or more, but by a rifleman who was very very gwell familiar with his weapon and could compensate with the arc-shaped trajectory of this range . Most people are not capable of such plans. Ethically, I think 200 meters is a good stop for a little better than average shot. Good luck, and use of care for placement shot.
