Studying Nature in Mexico is an unforgettable adventure Having spent many vacations in Cancun, Mexico, I decided to go ahead and move to study the beautiful nature that I admired in my previous trips. Having lived many years in comfort and safety of American suburbia, it was time for adventure. After learning Spanish, I went to the Yucatan and rented a house in the suburbs of Playa del Carmen and myself hired a maid. Then, with the help of hired guides and friends, I visited many remote places in the jungles of Mexico. It was an unforgettable experience of seeing a variety of animals in their natural habitat.
The booming city of Playa del Carmen is one hour south of Cancun, and easily accessible by public buses. Both cities are on the Caribbean Sea, where coral reefs abound along the coast. The sheer beauty of white limestone sand, and richly colored, turquoise water of the ocean drew me there. Being an artist of nature, I was fascinated by plants and animals of the region. Armed with my cameras, drawing paper and pens, I have to work on drawing and photographing bugs, birds, plants and anything else exotic. Soon, my work I landed a job as chief illustrator of a great natural park called Xcaret.
Whenever I had a drawing to deliver to my employer, I would like to get on the bus employees Xcaret, and then down a long road back to the jungle side of the park to the Board. These walks fascinated me, because of the way was right next to their pens, zoo and aviary. Pink flamingos, spider monkeys and harpy eagle were animals I could see the best of the track. Once I made the mistake of giving a monkey a cookie, only to see the monkeys run after him to fly, trying to beat him up! I quickly got a couple more witnesses gave the rest to them, to prevent monkeys original injury. They all sat there quietly nibbling as I slipped off, hoping that nobody saw.
In Mexico, you will see iguanas in the wild frequently. As I walked on the path of nature on my way to work, there was noise in the big tree near me. I raised my eyes to see a tall, 6 foot male green iguana with a fringe of bright orange on the back in the canopy of trees. He looked at me. I remember people telling me that iguanas are good to eat, the taste of chicken, and they are called "chicken of the tree." I never knew if it was true or not, but so I was not about to go eat iguanas. No, I'm not adventurous my choices to eat. iguanas black can be seen more often sitting with a stone pile. Everywhere there were rocks were male iguanas basking in the sun. interesting creatures. In Chankanaab Park (on the island of Cozumel) there is a huge iguana walking around public places, regardless of the humans who pass by it. It will bite if petted The park employee told me. So I took pictures of it and kept my distance.
Another lizard that was interesting and plentiful, has been basilisk basilisk, basil. There are several varieties of basil is in Mexico. It can run on the water if it becomes quite frightening, and I saw him after a fear unintentionally. Later, I found another smaller and called for my work, they have intense eyes, very serious. When I had finished drawing, he ran, standing in the jungle, glad to be free of the great fear of man with whom he had spent a few hours.
The jungles of Mexico are fascinating, but I do not recommend walking your way into one. Firstly, the foliage is very dense. Secondly, there are bugs in there that can hurt you if provoked, ie scorpions, snakes and spiders. Look, but do not touch. I saw all these areas, and paid people to remove them from my house. Scorpions come after you, if they are agitated. Step back quickly, wherever they may not follow. The lighter color, I found myself.
