What should I use to support models, string or a database.

Chains are a pain, you always wait for the model to adjust. The best I found was Mothod metal rods directly behind the model attatched on the back panel. This keeps them securely, but it is obvious that you must watch your camera angles, but you can always clone any stem shows and you have to watch for shadows on the panel. perspex rod works very well because it takes the color of the plate especially if you remove the gloss with a little wet or dry sandpaper.
