The famous nursery rhyme "Mary Had a Little Lamb" was written as a poem and published in 1830. You might be surprised to learn that the story is based on actual events, Mary is a lamb that her brother encouraged her to take to school. It happened to be a visitor that day, which was then taken with the whole incident the next day he came back and gave Mary a piece of paper contained three stanzas of the original poem.
